free christmas food north texas

Despite all the festivities that the Christmas holiday is known for, there is no denying the fact that it is also an expensive time of the year. But there is good news for those in North Texas as there are churches and charities that are helping people in need with free food.

There are some families that do not find it easy at this time of the year, due to the increase in the price of commodities.

The supply chain issues that emanated as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic and the inflation across Dallas-Fort Worth have given rise to a hike in the cost of food in this holiday season.

Current research shows that the price for a basket of holiday dinner staples for example; egg nog, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and turkey has gone up by 16%.

Just as we have already pointed out, several churches and charities in North Texas have made it a point of duty to share food to families in need this period. This is usually done around major holidays and of course, the Christmas holiday is included.

If you would like to know some organizations that are giving out free hot meals and carrying out food assistance programs, then you are on the right page. We will be taking a look at some of them right away.
